Great tank! Great price!
I wanted a water tank to keep my garden looking great and to top up my pool. The Save My Garden Water Tanks team was extremely helpful and responsive. They had the exact tank I was looking for at a great price. Their website had all the information I needed, ordering was easy and the delivery was great. I recommend them to anyone who wants to buy a rainwater tank.

FAQs

Q: Is there really any difference between the tanks being offered by the different suppliers? Isn't a tank just a tank and I should just buy the cheapest I can get?
A: Well for starters our tanks are some of the best value tanks you can buy and we are able to keep the prices so low because we don't carry the overheads of a retail shop-front and can pass the savings on to you. But if you can find cheaper tanks, many of these are inferior Chinese-made imports that will not last (there are press reports of these tanks failing after even a couple of years). Not only do you have to replace the tank, but you lose all of the water in them as well! If you want an Australian-made tank that is guaranteed to last 25 years in the harsh Australian climate that won't fail or result in more work or more cost for you then ours is the tank to buy. It's really great quality for a low-price because our overheads are so low.

Q: Where & how do I locate my tank?
A: Our slimline tanks mean they can be located against a wall & under the eave-line of your house or garage. In ideal position is on the blind side of your house. Round tanks can be put wherever their is room for them. Also ideally it should be positioned so that it can be plumbed into an existing downpipe or directly into a gutter to collect the roof water. A slimline tank should be ideally situated on a concrete slab, existing path or pavers but can also sit on a compacted bed of gravel. Round tanks can also be placed on a flat bed of sand. It is essential that the base is level. For further information about installing your tank go to Easy DIY Installation.

Q: How long will the water in the tank last?
A: This of course depends on the usage rate, but as a guide, watering a garden by hose with average pressure would use between 6 to 7 litres per minute. So from a 2,000 litre tank, you could water for approximately 5 hours from full to empty. 7 hours for a 3,000 litre tank. And 12 hours for a 5,000 litre tank.

Q: What type and size tank should I get?
A: This depends on how much garden and lawn you have, if you have a pool or not and what room you have (round tanks take up more room than slimline tanks). See What Size Water Tank Will I Need?

Q: What if our biggest slimline tank (3,000 litres) doesn't give me enough water for my needs?
A: Easy, buy two! Seriously, many people buy more than one tank to capture more water from different areas of their roof. They also position multiple tanks around their house to provide easier access to the water. Some people prefer to run multiple slimline tanks down the 'blind' side of their house so they are not seen. You can also buy a larger round tank from us (up to 5,000 litres) instead of/in addition to a slimline tank (if you have room for it) – round tanks are cheaper because they are much cheaper to produce (but they also take up more room).

Q: Should I get a polypropylene water tank or a steel water tank?
A: Polypropylene water tanks won't rust, crack or leak and are typically much cheaper than steel water tanks. Our polypropylene water tanks come with a longer warranty than many steel tanks.

Q: How can you afford to offer $1,178 in free bonuses?
A: We run our water tank supply business entirely online and do not carry the expense of a retail outlet. Our cost of running business is much lower than others so we are able to pass this cost saving on to you in the form of both great prices for top quality water tanks and these great free bonuses. We have been able to strike a great deal with our suppliers and the people at Australian Getaway to bring these great FREE bonuses to you.

Q: When will my water tank be delivered?
A: Once you have placed your order we will contact you by telephone closer to the delivery date to arrange a suitable date and time for delivery. You should be present for the delivery.

Q: Are your water tanks any good?
A: You bet. Rainhaven and Poly Water Tanks manufacture our water tanks. They are Australian companies that have manufactured thousands and thousands of water tanks. They provide a solid guarantee quality guarantee that your tank will not split, rot or crack. Our tanks look great and will give you many, many years of solid performance.

Q: Can I install the water tank?
A: Yes. Please see our Easy DIY Installation area for details on how. You can also contact us for installation assistance via email. If you don't want to install your own water tank, you can get your local plumber to do it for you.

Q: Do I need anything else other than the water tank?
A: Yes, but the additional items are inexpensive and readily available at your local plumping or irrigation supply store. You will likely need the following (see more detail at Easy DIY Install). All are readily available from your local plumbing supplies outlet:

  • A PVC fitting to connect into your gutter downpipe (about $5)
  • Some PVC pipe that will run the distance from your downpipe to the top of your water tank (about $10 depending on the length required)
  • Another PVC fitting to fit to the end of the PVC pipe to direct the water into the top of your water tank (about $5)
  • A brass tap fitting to take water from your water tank when you need it (about $15)
Total = $35 (approx.)

If you want the water tank run off to go into your stormwater drainage you will need:
  • A PVC fitting plus some PVC pipe again (about $15 depending on length)
If you want to install the water pump you will need:

A suction hose to go from the water tank to the water pump (about $50)
  • A brass tap to fit to the pump (about $15) so you can plug your garden hose into it.

Q: What if I don't want to install my water tank myself?
A: No problem! We will recommend an installer for your area when you order.

Q: Why do slimline tanks cost more than standard round ones?
A: Slimline tanks take longer to make and are more difficult to produce. This makes them much more expensive to make. But their slimline nature makes them ideal for tucking away somewhere unseen at your house. They can often be placed where round tanks cannot so you capture the water you need from your roof. You can also get round tanks from us if you prefer.

Q: How much Government rebate will I get and when do I get it?
A: Please go to Government Rebates to find out.

Q: Can I hook my water tank up to my toilet or my washing machine?
A: Yes, but you will need a licenced plumber to do this for you. Whilst the average garden and pool use about 50% of your household water per year, your toilet will use around 15%.

Q: Can I trust your company?
A: Yes, absolutely. We know that some people are a bit 'iffy' about dealing with a company over the internet. But here's some information that will hopefully put your mind at ease:

  • Our company is GroupJ Pty Ltd (ACN 076 311 585, ABN 21 076 311 585)
  • GroupJ Pty Ltd has been trading for over 8 years
  • We give great customer service and always answer all questions, fix things that are not right and help you as much as we can

Q: What if I order more than one water tank?
A: Not only will we be pretty happy about that, so will you as you will receive the free bonuses for each water tank you order from us! Yes, you get a free strainer and free holiday accommodation bonus booklet for each water tank you order! You can give away the free accommodation to any of your family or friends!
